I forgot I set up a blog.... 5 years later.....

Well now. I don't know why I should even start this up again. Do I think that I might actually be consistent? Do I think I will make big bucks by attaining a huge following for my sometimes witty content? Nope. Maybe by posting this one I'll figure on posting another. It was a nice walk down memory lane to look through older postings. I can do that on Facebook though. I get tired of Facebook though. I get tired of all the social media at times. I really do want to see pictures my friends and family took. I do want to know what's happening in their lives. I just don't feel like I'm always getting the full picture. Of course, I don't always share the full picture either. Really I just want to take time to go visit all the people I care about. It'd only take a few years I suppose. I've turned 40. We've finally lived in one place more than a couple years. I have two daughters who are both in school. Preschool and 1st grade. I've been married to Jess for almost 15 years. I don't think a blog can keep up with all the life we live. It can share a peek though... Soon I'll show some pictures and tell some stories. We've remodeled a house. We've raised children. We've been human. All kinds of stories in there. Until then, Until when, Who knows.

Calú is two months old!

I had been stressing lately about Calú's sleep and lack of it. She had been really working that six week sleep problem thing they warn you about. On Thanksgiving day she was up from early in the morning until I handed her off to a friend at our Thanksgiving feast at a friends house. She turned two months that day. In the two days since she has been sleeping like a champ. It's like a switch turned on.... or off I suppose.

A crafty idea from before Pinterest

I don't remember when it was but I saw this online a while back. Before I got hooked on Pinterest. Maybe this will be the first of many projects completed around the house. I just don't like to see an ugly box of matches in the h but they are necessary if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty sure you can tell by the picture how this is done but I just put a small piece of sandpaper in the lid of a small mason jar and matches inside. Ta-da!

Sometimes I forget that I can post from my phone.

Not spending very much time on the computer these days. Having a newborn again is proving to take much of my time. Funny how much you forget.

Still Here

Everything has been happening so fast. It's 2012. It's the end of January already. Naomi is walking everywhere and working on running. She's getting very vocal and has quite a few recognizable words.... to me and Jess at least. Dada was one of the first and now she has finally started referring to me as mama. We got a dog. We bought a house. It's been almost a year since we moved here to the central coast. We are connecting with people and making friends. I haven't been up to Washington since July but we've had lots of family and friends come to us! It's made the time fly. I'll have to add more photos on the next one. You may want to sit down for this.... I am doing Crossfit. I've never been much for the gym or strenuous exercise but I think I like this. I've been three times. Surprisingly I was able to do sit-ups using an abmat. I wish I had know about these sooner. My lower back doesn't even pop like it used to when I use this. I had a couple of days walking funny from doing more squats than I have done in my entire life. The workouts are scaled down for beginners like me but they are still very intense. I will try to keep posting about my progress. I can't believe I'm doing a Sumo Deadlift High Pull!

Our little bundle of energy and joy is one year old now. We had a little shindig on Saturday to celebrate. She is getting very close to taking her first steps and I think there may be some molars coming in.... not sure. She's been waking up at night and tending to be a little clingy/fussy during the day. Still a kick in the pants though. Love it.
